15th Birthday: Behind The Scenes at our Photoshoot

Back in July, we braved one of the hottest days of the year to head to private members club, The Kings Head to shoot our 15th Birthday Collection! With giant cases of photography equipment, bags full of party supplies and lots of clothes, we took over the amazing venue to capture all fifteen pieces of jewellery on our models, Georgie Mae and Mireia. Roar! This really wild fellow was hanging out in one of the first locations. Everywhere we looked, there were outlandish decorations - even above the staircase! Suffer from lepidopterophobia? You might not have been quite so fond of the butterfly room as we were. The 15th Birthday Collection jewellery and a selection of Name Necklaces in rainbow colours were lined up ready to shoot. Stylist Nao Koyabu brought an amazing selection of clothes, including some beautiful vintage pieces from our Brick Lane neighbours Beyond Retro. Sparkles, sparkles everywhere! We fell in love with these sequinned numbers by Ashish. Hair stylist Cee Cee Nulty and make up artist Bea Sweet were on hand to create the perfect look for each piece of jewellery. Bea knows exactly what we're looking for - she's modelled for Tatty Devine, too! We were very excited to have photographer Eleanor Hardwick calling the shots on the day. You might have seen her dreamy Meadham Kirchhoff shoots and features in Rookie. In between shots, our team looked through the day's images to make sure they perfectly captured the birthday theme. We think they did a brilliant job! Despite the temperature hitting 30°C, our models kept their cool and showed off the 15th Birthday jewellery to perfection. We loved Mireia in this royal blue vintage party dress, too! Finally, the moment we were all waiting for arrived. Baking queen Susan of Smash Bang Dollop made our dreams come true and created an amazing birthday cake, complete with Italian meringue frosting and a magical surprise inside... ...rainbow layers! Georgie Mae and Mireia wasted no time getting stuck in - and getting covered in icing, too.
