2013 Review of the Year
2013 has been a very special year for Tatty Devine. We've travelled the world, met lots of Tatty Devine fans and even hung out with royalty...! Join us as we take a look back at our highlights of the year: At the start of the year, Rosie and Harriet headed to Buckingham Palace to receive MBEs for Services to the Fashion Industry. We're very proud to receive such formal recognition for our work, especially as we're committed to keeping manufacturing in the UK. It was an amazing ceremony - we think Prince Charles took a liking to Harriet's Dinosaur Necklace... That wasn't our only brush with royalty! We were honoured to be awarded Accessories Business of the Year by the UKFT. It was a very glamorous evening - here's Rosie and Harriet with Caroline Flack, Myleene Klass and HRH The Princess Royal herself. Over 300 customers joined us to celebrate the arrival of our Spring Summer 2013 collection with a riotous party inspired by India's colourful Holi festival. It all got a little bit messy... Pliers at the ready! We met hundreds of crafty Tatty Devine fans in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gateshead and even the USA who took part in our jewellery making workshops: The fun didn't stop there. We headed to New York City for the US launch of our book, How to Make Jewellery With Tatty Devine. It was amazing to explore the Big Apple and celebrate with our friends at Patricia Field, Penguin, BUST and Powerhouse Arena: Harriet made a solo trip to Taiwan to showcase a one-off Fireworks Necklace we designed for the 10th birthday of landmark building Taipei 101: Ahoy there, mateys! Team Tatty took a trip to the beautiful Isle of Wight to host Bunting Necklace Workshops for revellers at our favourite nautical themed festival, Bestival: Exciting things have been happening at home, too. Our Name Necklace concession at Selfridges London became permanent with a flash new makeover and we hosted special Christmas pop ups in Dublin, Manchester and Birmingham: We've worked on some incredible projects over the course of the year. We couldn't believe our ears when Facebook asked us to create an exclusive charm necklace for their team and filmed us in action at our East London studio. Major 'like'! Fashion icon Isabella Blow has always been a key inspiration for Rosie and Harriet. We were honoured to design a limited edition pink Lobster Necklace especially for the Somerset House exhibition, celebrating her life and style: In October, we revealed a precious jewellery collaboration with our good friend, artist Rob Ryan. Harriet worked closely with Rob to translate his signature paper cuts into sterling silver, gold and rose gold. The collection launched exclusively in a custom made space in Selfridges London and online. Were you one of the lucky Tatty Devine fans who woke up to a piece in their stocking this Christmas? Strangest moment of the year? Well, it has to be pop star Miley Cyrus being spotted in our Eyelash Sunglasses whilst hanging out with rapper Lil Kim. Sadly, we can neither confirm nor deny whether she was twerking at the time. Phew, that's about it for 2013! Thank you so much for all your support this year. We've had so much fun and we can't wait to see what 2014 has in store... See you soon! Rosie, Harriet and Team Tatty x
