Our paw-some partnership with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is here! We’ve teamed up with Battersea to design a jewellery collection of cute canines and fancy felines purr-fect for top dogs and cool cats everywhere.

We caught up with cool cats Rosie and Harriet to chat about the new collection...

How did the Battersea Dogs & Cats partnership come about? H: My cat Betty came from Battersea so it's always had a place in my heart - the work they do is amazing. R: When they got in touch we felt like the cat that got the cream!

Did you design these adorable animals with specific personalities in mind? H: The personalities came about through the process of drawing them and their characters really came to life as soon as they were sampled. R: Lots of our friends have cats and dogs which we found inspiring.

You've designed dogs and cats since the very beginning at Tatty Devine, why do they inspire you? H: Cats and dogs are a classic theme since the beginning of costume jewellery and that's something we like to explore. R: They're just so cute, we'd both love to have a dog but just don't have the time to be good dog owners, therefore jewellery has always been the next best thing!

Are you a cat or a dog person? H: I had a budgie when I was little and a hamster when I was a teenager so wouldn't define myself as either. However I did have a cat when I left home called Betty, she was a black cat and she always brought me good luck. R: I grew up with a Gordon Setter called Bella. My family were into dogs and my Granny always had poodles or greyhounds, so they've always been a part of my life.

Favourite design in the collection? H: I love the Persian Cat, she's so sassy and knows who's boss. The only way you'd get a Persian Cat to sit on your lap would be by wearing one! R: The Cockapoo. I've wanted a Cockapoo for the last 10 years but have never quite had the right work/home set up to be able to look after one properly - so I'll be wearing the necklace instead.
