Colette Patterns are here
We're really pleased to announce that we are now stocking Colette Patterns. These beautifully designed, modern sewing patterns are all created by Sarai Mitnick from Portland, Oregon. (Is it just us or does everything cool come out of Portland?). Discovering Colette Patterns is like discovering the vintage sewing patterns of your dreams, except that instead of a jigsaw puzzle of random tissue shapes, these patterns come with step-by-step instructions written in plain English, and are suitable for modern women's bodies (every pattern can be cut for sizes 0-18). Each pattern comes in a linen card pocket along with a beautiful booklet with lots of clear-as-crystal instructions. Many of the patterns are suitable for beginners, so if you've allowed your sewing machine to sit unused because you can't get your head around French seams or buttonholes, let Colette come to the rescue. We've chosen to stock five of their patterns. Ceylon is a curvy vintage-style shirt dress: Sencha is a very pretty top with some cute fastening options, like ribbon ties: Nutmeg is a little lounging underwear set, with a bra top and two different styles of knickers (we like the tap pants): Ginger is a cute A-line skirt with some lovely shaped waistband options: And Violet is a blouse with a wide, scooping Peter Pan collar: Let us know what you make with these beautiful new patterns. They are all available online here and in our two boutiques, but there is a limited amount of stock so do hurry if you have your heart set on one of them!
