Happy Easter from Team Tatty Devine!
Spending Easter Sunday in a sugar haze? Us, too! Not only have chocolate eggs popped up in the strangest of places at the London studio this week, but our resident queen of cakes, Lucy, surprised us all with some rather delicious homemade Easter-themed treats...
Lucy says: "First, I made Koulousakia - Greek butter cookies. Mine look a bit like bunnie's bums! Normally, you add almond and vanilla essence but I always think it tastes a bit synthetic, so I used homemade vanilla sugar. You could always add a little rosewater or rosemary for a different flavour."
"I've never made a simnel cake before but it wasn't too hard. I just flung all the ingredients together and chucked it into the oven! (We don't believe it!) I topped it with twelve marzipan balls, which is a bit controversial. You're usually supposed to grill them before you add them to the cake but I haven't. Well, there's Mini Eggs to top it all off instead! Right, who wants a slice?"
Thank you for being our very own Easter Bunny, Lucy! Yes, we can confirm the cake and biscuits were totally delicious. We hope you all have a wonderful Bank Holiday!
