Harriet's Rainbow Hair Tutorial
Have you been watching The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft each week swooning over Harriet Vine's gorgeous pastel rainbow hair?
Thought Harriet had it done professionally for the show? (I did) Wrong! Over the years Harriet has mastered her technique in DIY rainbow hair dye, and does this all by herself at home! She's here to show you how you can get the look yourself, so without further ado here's the cure to your serious hair envy:
STEP 1:
Brush your hair forwards, ready for sectioning! I've chosen seven colours for my rainbow, so I'm going to divide my hair into seven sections. Starting at the back, use your comb to section off the first part of your hair.
Then twist, and pin to the side of your head. Repeat, and alternate the side you pin it to...
...so it ends up looking like this!
STEP 2
Time to start colouring starting from the back. Unpin one section at a time, using a small paint brush to apply the hair dye.
Comb through the colour, so it's evenly distributed. I even run the hair through my fingers for maximum coverage! Now pin it back down.
Repeat for each colour, until it looks like this:
Ta-da! I usually leave the dye on for an hour, just long enough for it to take. Luckily, my hair is bleached so it doesn't take too long. Time for an episode of The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft!
STEP 3
One hour later, it's shower time! The colder the water, the better the results...
and one blow-dry later...
