Hijack Valentines Day with Tatty Devine and Craftivist Collective
We're big fans of Craftivist Collective, who combine craft and activism to try to change the world for the better. This Thursday we're hosting a Craftivist Collective workshop in our Covent Garden boutique, to create alternative Valentines gifts and letters. All the letters will be hidden in sneaky places on February 14th, like this one in London's Oxford Circus: The letters encourage whoever finds them to show some love to people around the world who are being affected by climate change: We've created a design especially for this project. It's a heart with a scroll, which can easily be turned into a shrinky dink keyring with a message on it, and popped into each letter as an alternative Valentines gift: Here are some finished examples from the Craftivists: There are very limited places on the workshop, but people all over the world will be joining in - you can make your own letter and gift at home if you'd like to take part. Full instructions and a downloadable Tatty Devine template are here. Hide your letter in your home town on Valentines Day, or volunteer to help hide letters in sneaky places on February 14th. Just get in touch with Craftivist Collective through their website if you want to get involved. We love these photos of hidden letters in locations near our Brick Lane boutique, from last time Craftivist Collective did this project! See more here.
