Indietracks 2009
Tatty Devine just had a great weekend away up in Derbyshire at Indietracks - possibly the best indiepop festival EVER! The festival was in the perfect setting of the Midlands Railway Butterley on the Swanwick museum site. We were in music heaven watching Camera Obscura, Au Revoir Simone, Tender Trap and one of our all time favourites - Stereo Total. Over the weekend we ran a workshop which was swamped by excited people turning their festival souvenirs into jewellery. We also had a merch stall next to the much loved record label Elefant and the vintage ladies Kathleen & Lily’s. On the stall we sold the jewellery we made exclusively for Indietracks - a very cute enamel brooch and necklace, and a fabulous bunting necklace, plus the special 'French Navy' anchor necklace and brooch we made for Camera Obscura (a very limited run - get yours now before they are all gone!). It's all available here! One of the highlights of the weekend was dancing on stage with Stereo Total. We all jumped up and down in the rain to 'Everybody In the Discotheque', and then caught up with Francoise and Brezel backstage. Francoise was wearing a name necklace we made for her saying 'Cactus' - which looked fantastic. Another special moment was at 5pm on Saturday afternoon when we were witness to a moment of history in the making. Amelia Fletcher, Elizabeth Price and Eithne Farry came together in the merch tent to sing together again as Talulah Gosh (they split up in 1988 so it was all very special). 'Beatnik Boy' is a Tatty favourite. We also loved seeing bands play on the steam train and in the church - AMAZING! We can’t wait for the next Indietracks, but in the meantime you can see more photos on our flickr and check out all the bands here!
