Lovely Lomography
Yesterday a bike came to collect our customised Diana camera! The Diana camera is a Lomo camera and a very beautiful one too! When the Lomo people asked us if we would like to customise one as part of the Diana World Tour we were only too pleased to help out as we have always loved Lomos. When Tatty Devine first started we shot our whole lookbook on one, and the Lomo ambassador at the time was really supportive. They lent us cameras and gave us tips about cross processing slide film to get the intense technicolour look that the Lomo does so well. We took our Lomos everywhere - Rosie even found a beautiful old one in a junk shop in Russia once.
We have given our Diana camera a Tatty Devine touch by adding cartoon eyes, a moustache, and changing the strap to a necklace chain. You coudn't help but smile if someone took your photo with this camera.
All the customised cameras will be on exhibition from Saturday in the Lomo shop on Newburgh Street. There are lots of lovely people involved in the project, including Ninety, Betty Steeles, Chris Bracey, Philip Treacy, Beyond The Valley, Rachel Ortas, Jon Burgerman, Craig Atkinson, Kate Moross, Okido, Jody Barton, Rob Ryan, Sharon Elphick, Zakee Shariff, James Brown, Dean Zeus Colman, Harris Elliot, Bob Crowley and Time Out.
Here are some of the Lomo pictures we took when we were shooting our Spring Summer 2000 catalogue...
And if you can't make it to the exhibition you can get our Lomo's look with the Moustache Necklace and the Cartoon Eyes Rings!
