LOUD WOMEN and louder music: dubbed ‘the antidote to male-heavy festival lineups’ by NME, the LOUD WOMEN Festival returns for its 8th annual event next weekend. A must-attend showcase, see the very best female and non-binary talent from the grassroots and alternative music scene all in one place… That’s Shoreditch’s Rich Mix on 7th September 2024. Book your ticket now.

Ahead of the festival we sat down with tastemaker and LOUD WOMEN, Cassie to talk must-see bands and gig-ready looks…

Hey Cassie, what inspired you to start the LOUD WOMEN Fest?

The mission is to put more women on more stages and turn up the volume!

I would love to see more inclusion and diversity throughout the music industry. There are so many incredible bands and artists on the grassroots scene, and LOUD WOMEN Fest gives these bands a brilliant platform on which to shine. Plus it’s SO much fun!

Cassie Fox, LOUD WOMEN Founder

It’s the 8th year of running this amazing feminist event, what has been your highlight so far?

Getting to host bands like Nova Twins, Lambrini Girls, HotWax, Chroma, Big Joanie and hundreds more who’ve since gone on to rock much bigger stages around the world.

“If you’ve ever looked at a festival lineup and wondered where all the women are, they’re playing LOUD WOMEN Fest” - Kerrang!

Tatty Devine x Gossip Beth Ditto Necklace

Attendees on the day are in the running to win a Tatty Devine X Gossip Bundle: what is your favourite piece from the collection?

It’s all so lush! Beth Ditto is such a shero – a gloriously loud woman! I’ve got my eye on a Beth Ditto Necklace for sure.

What can people expect to see on the day?

A full day jam-packed with music: 20 bands back to back with no clashes! There are genres from indie to punk to rap to singer-songwriter, so you’re bound to find your new favourite artist here. It’s all ages too, so kids and teens can come and get inspired too. Oh, and delicious vegan food to keep you fuelled throughout the day!

Is there anyone on the line-up we NEED to check out?

OMG don’t make me pick, they’re all so great!

We’ve got our house band, mummycore punks I, Doris, to Indonesian feminist rapper YackoBe sure to check out hotly tipped rock sisters Baby Said, fresh from playing Reading and Leeds festival, to stunning urban songwriter Lilith Ai … there really is something for all ears!

What piece of Tatty Devine jewellery makes any outfit gig-ready in your opinion?

I love the possibilities of your customisable name necklaces – what’s more rocknroll than self-expression!

Right?! It's time to book your LOUD WOMEN Fest 2024 ticket and check out our gig-ready jewellery
