Miss West End Girl's Top Glasgow Spots

This month we headed on tour to Newcastle, Glasgow and Liverpool to bring the world of Tatty Devine to you - what a blast it's been!

Couldn't join us on our Tatty Tour? We've invited one of our favourite bloggers, Lynsay from Miss West End Girl, to give us a taste of Glasgow. We love taking a look at Lynsay's colourful snaps on Instagram and seeing how she styles our jewellery (check her out in the Tiger Necklace!), this girl knows her Glasgow hot spots.

Hello and welcome to Glasgow!

Whether you're visiting for a day trip, or spending a long weekend in Glasgow, here are some of my top spots for...

​...a touch of inspiration It's difficult not to feel inspired when you're surrounded by beautiful architecture, and Glasgow has old and new styles of buildings standing shoulder to shoulder all over the city. My top tip? Go to The Lighthouse on Mitchell Lane and take the lift all the way up to the top floor. There, you'll find a stunning view across the city's rooftops from their massive windows!

 ...lunch with friends My current favourite place to grab lunch and a catch-up is Spitfire Espresso, located in Glasgow's Merchant City Area. You can expect all-day eggs, a kitsch soundtrack of 1950s rock 'n' roll and brightly-coloured cups! They also have a yummy selection of cakes, all baked in-house and too good to pass up.

...live music Glasgow's live music scene is world-famous and feels like the beating heart of the city. Hosting a vibrant local music scene and concerts from well-known bands, you're sure to have an awesome night at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.

...taking Instagram pictures NAF Salon in the city centre is the most Instagram-able place I know - with neon signs, pastel decor and cute tropical plants (not to mention rad beauty treatments...) You'll also find amazing street art dotted all over the city, often tucked away in the most unlikely of places. You can find out more about how to take a walking tour of Glasgow's street art.

...finding vintage bargains Ruthven Lane in the West End is a hop, skip and jump from the hustle and bustle of the main streets and has a few of Glasgow's best hidden gems. The mysterious Starry Starry Night is packed with original vintage pieces and you never quite know what you might find on their rails, while Circa Vintage has cabinets filled with gorgeous original jewellery (and has the most adorable shop dog called Daisy!)

...an afternoon walk Glasgow is lucky enough to have plenty of parks and green spaces, and the Botanic Gardens has to be my top pick for a relaxing walk. It's been around since the 1800s and looks amazing all year round - on a sunny day it's a huge favourite with locals for picnics and in crisper months it's a lovely place to walk under the trees and break in your new season boots.

...awesome nail art When it comes to getting your paws polished, look no further than the award-winning Swoon Nails. Becoming something of a local legend, there's no design that nail technician Lia can't handle, creating wicked bespoke nails for fashionistas all over Glasgow. Expect all the colours, patterns and glitter your imagination can dream up.

...a great cup of coffee If there's one thing people in Glasgow love, it's a cup of coffee! Forget the chains though, you'll find ace indie coffee spots all over the city and one of my must-visit cafes is Papercup Coffee. With easy-breezy vibes and their own brand of small batch roasted coffee, it's the kind of place you could happily sit for hours, or grab a cup on the go.
