Our publishers get crafty with our new book!

Today we're featuring a guest post from Katie Johnson at Virgin Books. Our new craft book, How To Make Jewellery with Tatty Devine, is being published by Virgin so they had a staff craft session after work to try their hand at one of the projects. Here's Katie: "When the Tatty Devine book finally arrived at our offices around a month ago, there was a rush to get hold of the first copies. I had a few on my desk which have gradually been ‘borrowed’ by various members of staff (you know who you are) and it has definitely been one of the most coveted books amongst my friends. Last night, a group of us from Virgin Books decided to get together and make one of the projects from the book together. How To Make Jewellery with Tatty Devine - tape measure rosette project Hannah, the book’s editor, arranged for some wine and snacks to help aid our concentration, and she also borrowed some industrial looking hole punchers from the lovely ladies at Tatty.  Rather than using measuring tapes, we improvised and used some beautiful cloth ribbon, which Hannah picked up from the haberdashery in John Lewis. John Lewis ribbon and Tatty Devine hole punchers = tape measure rosette There are a lot of instructions, and we were all a bit worried that we were going to get it wrong. But after a hesitant start, we quickly realised that these weren’t hard to make at all, and got into the swing of things as we watched our rosettes start to come together. Ribbon rosetteRibbon rosettes Thanks so much to Hannah for organising the girls’ night in, Liz, whose idea it was in the first place, and, of course, the team at Tatty Devine for such a great book to work from!" Thank you Katie! The rosettes look fantastic (and we're also jealous of that perfect manicure). If you feel inspired to raid your ribbon stash and make your own rosette, buy the book here.
