This International Women's Day, we're packing our pliers and heading to the sea-side to explore themes around feminism, equality, and creativity with a little help from our friends...

 

 

Joining forces with POW! Thanet as part of their International Women's Day weekend celebrations, head to the Tatty Devine Takeover, housed in a former Woolworths, to be one of the first to shop our new Fawcett Society x Tatty Devine collection. Meet members of our Kent-based production team, try your hand at out jewellery making workshops, hear from fellow trail-blazing female creatives and join Tatty Devine Co-Founders Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine for a very special POW! Bunting Necklace Workshop.

10am-5pm

10am-11am - Women Are Equal to Everything

Amber Butchart in conversation with Rosie Wolfenden MBE and Harriet Vine MBE. Fashion historian, author, and broadcaster Amber Butchart will explore the cultural significance of Tatty Devine and resounding response to their collections of campaign jewellery. 

Tickets to be made available via POW! Thanet for £3.50 (plus booking fee) per person in advance. £5 on the door. 

 

12pm - Suffragette Bunting Necklace Workshop

In celebration of International Woman’s Day, make your very own Suffragette-inspired Tatty Devine Bunting Necklace. Take your pick from a choice of over 30 shades of laser cut acrylic, including the Suffragette colours of purple, white and green, hand-linked to a chain.

Tickets are £45 and very limited, book now to avoid disappointment!

 

2pm-5pm - Drop-in Jewellery Making Workshops

Take a seat! Join Team Tatty and learn how to make your very own acrylic Mini Bunting Necklace, from a choice of over over 30 shades of laser cut acrylic, for just £15. There will also be free activities to sit down and join in with.
 

 

Slots are £15 and available on a drop in basis, payable on the day.

The Vagina Museum comes to Margate
Muff Busters: Vagina Myths and How To Fight Them.

Camden's own Vagina Museum, the world's first bricks and mortar museum dedicated to vaginas, vulvas, and the gynaecological anatomy will bring an edited touring version of the current exhibition at the Museum.

11am - POW! Bunting Necklace Workshop hosted by Co-Founders Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden

Join us for a jewellery making workshop with a difference! Sip bubbly as you create your very own Bunting Necklace, from a choice of over 30 shades of laser cut acrylic, guided by Tatty Devine Co-Founders, Rosie Wolfenden, and Harriet Vine.

1pm - Knowledge is Power!

Amy Zing sits down with writer Deborah Coughlin to discuss OUTSPOKEN, 50 Speeches By Incredible Women.

 

3pm - Action!

A woman wakes up from 60 years of cryosleep and finds herself drifting aimlessly through space, a member of the IRA hides in a teenage party with tragic consequences, and an immigrant woman hides her 5 year old daughter from her landlord while she goes to work.

Come and see a selection of short films by up-and-coming female film and TV directors from a dizzying cross-section of themes and genres. Curated by Birds Eye View Co-Founder and Filmmaker
Pinny Grylls.

5-8pm - Closing Party: Bar and DJs

Pop-up Margate Arts Club serving local wine and beers and Dalston's soft drinks and DJs Siobhan and Vic aka @UGOTTHEPWR - Join the party!
