Tatty Devine x Matty Bovan
Sometimes matches are just made in heaven, and our creative coming together with Matty Bovan was certainly one of them!
We've known Matty for quite some time (he's even appeared in one of our photoshoots back in the day), so when he asked if we'd like to collaborate on jewellery for his SS17 LFW show, we jumped at the chance!
On Saturday we attended his amazing SS17 show, but first here's a look behind the seams at our collaboration with Matty...
A couple of weeks ago Matty popped by our studio to throw ideas about with Harriet, and a whirlwind hour was spent cutting out abstract shapes in paper and playing around with acrylic samples to find the perfect colour combos to complement his designs... Within 48 hours, Harriet had laser cut and hand bent these abstract designs - talk about fast fashion!
“Working with Matty has been a spontaneous and exciting journey. From snipping up bits of paper together and pawing through acrylic samples - the pieces came together naturally and I love how we made something new bringing both of our aesthetics together!” - Harriet and Rosie
"It’s such a fab opportunity to work with Tatty Devine. I remember seeing Tatty Devine when I was a teenager and loving all their use of colour and plastic - something I use in my world. The colours in our collaboration are bright and pop with weirder undertones. Everything is hand-drawn by me and Tatty Devine - we really wanted to see the hand work married with the machine." - Matty Bovan
We headed to Fashion East, and were sitting FROW no less, to watch Matty's amazing SS17 collection unfold...
The collection was a playful, kaleidoscope of colour, with the models owning the catwalk and dressed ready to hit the dance floor! The collection was inspired by Matty's love of texture and colour and incorporated the twisted glamour and post punk aesthetic of '80s New York.
