You know here at Tatty Devine we LOVE collaborating with all our favourite people and our latest collection is just so exciting! Drum roll please, we have teamed up with illustrator Venus Libido to create an empowering collection that raises money for Young Women’s Trust.
Let’s introduce you to Venus Libido. An illustrator, sex positivy advocate, presenter and Young Women’s Trust ambassador, there is nothing she can’t do! Born as a result of experiencing self doubt, mental health issues and exploring her position in the world as a woman, this story is a huge part of the messaging in her work. Serious topics are made comical and relatable in her brightly coloured drawings. We LOVE that Venus isn’t afraid of pushing boundaries and calling out taboo subjects.
Both lovers of bright colours and poppy illustrations, Tatty Devine X Venus Libido is the perfect pairing… if we do say so ourselves. Something else we have in common? Supporting other women! £3 from each piece of jewellery sold from this collection will be donated to Young Women’s Trust and their important work, so here’s a bit about them too!
As we know, young women are the power behind society but for the next generation something's getting in the way. That age-old gender discrimination. This issue is impacting careers, finances, mental health and hopes for the future, Young Women’s Trust are working to fight this. They are a feminist organisation working to achieve economic justice for young women.
Last night, we held an online auction with 4 sets of ONE OFF prints featuring Venus’s illustrations for the jewellery. It was an amazing evening where we previewed the collection, heard amazing stories from people helped by Young Women’s Trust (keep your eyes peeled for more from them) and raised £208 for Young Women’s Trust.
Now the moment we have all been waiting for, let’s take a look at the collection! Modelled by Venus herself, with her best pal and model Nyome Williams, who you will recognise from her amazing campaign to stop the censorship of women's bodies on Instagram.
