The secret’s out!

We are so happy to be able to talk about the much-anticipated TV show The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft #TFFOCC, with our co-founder Harriet Vine appearing weekly as a Craft Expert Judge. A spectacular new show, where skilful competitors turn crafting on its head to create a mic-drop craft of epic proportions.

Here Harriet takes us through from the very moment she got the call, to an all-access behind the scenes tour of the Willy Wonka style studio.

New to Tatty Devine? Hi! (👋).
You can read all about us and our incredible jewellery here and find out a little more about Co-Founders Harriet and Rosie here.

Ready? Harriet, take it away…

The Tatty Devine studio is normally fizzing with exciting projects, and last July was no exception. In the midst of opening our Crafts Council Misshapes exhibition, an e-mail pinged into my inbox from Studio Ramsay (of Gordon fame) which led to one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

Ever since I can remember I have made and created things and luckily have a certain tenacity for all things creative so I was naturally very excited about an amazing opportunity to become an expert judge for a new craft show on Channel 4. The set will blow your minds: shout out to the incredible set designer, Joshua Grace, Art Director and massive Tatty fan Maddie Flint, and all the amazingly talented team.

Top tip! Keep your eyes peeled for out of this world creations hidden around the set: from craft-based destinations inside the lift including Etching Empire and House of Hot Glue, knitted and glitter brick walls adorned with golden geodes, a prop microwave made entirely of cardboard and a 6ft cactus with pipe cleaners for spikes!

The Materials Room was next level - oh my god, it was pure heaven. Full to the brim with wool, wire, braid, wood, tissue, fabric and everything else imaginable - including a fluorescent green sheep!

In the coming weeks, I’ll talk you through the judging process (eek!), my favourite hair and makeup looks - (oh the glamour!) and more unbelievable craft moments to spot in the show.

Love Harriet 🌈 x
