Toilet Jewellery!
Yes. Believe your eyes.
Tatty Devine has made toilet seat earrings, complete with a flushing cascade of sparkling droplets. We've made this brilliant bog standard jewellery for artist Silvia Ziranek, who is performing as part of the Dirt exhibition at The Wellcome Collection. Silvia describes her performance, Not Undirty, as "a dirty performance (by a clean artist) presenting foul habits, leaking aspirations, fetid humour, and fermenting imagination. Revel in language fit for guttersnipes, revealing Havisham-esque fashion, replete with scenes of malodorous contamination and grotty attempts to antidote the squalid undersides of everyday existence." Here's Silvia wearing the earrings, and a matching shower necklace, which will both play a part in her performance:
The performance will take place on Thursday 23rd June 2011 at 7pm, and on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June at 3pm.
It's free to attend and you don't need to book. Flush out more information.
