Dial M for Mimi Wade! Pink Panther Purr-fection
This season Mimi Wade dialled T for Tatty and invited us to collaborate on some playful pieces, to add those all important finishing touches to her AW17 LFW show. We love her eclectic style, so we couldn’t wait to get creative with Mimi!
Sneak a peek backstage at her Fashion East show and take a closer look at our collaboration...
Mimi’s obsession with the golden era of Hollywood, saw her take inspiration from silver screen movie posters with luxe fabrics such as corduroy, silk, lace and ruffles appearing in pastel and muted tones. Mimi kept things elegantly kitsch, with fluffy clouds, cartoon prints and playfully patched motifs nodding to one cool cat - The Pink Panther!
Pretty pink acrylic paws left clues strewn across Mimi’s designs; each of the handmade acrylic appliques were hand curved by Team Tatty in the heart of East London at our Brick Lane studio.
Inspector Clousseau, Pink Panther’s arch rival, was reimagined as pearlescent hand inked buttons, looking for clues on printed ruffle blouses and a corduroy blazer… You better watch out!
Dial M for Mimi! Nodding to Hitchcock heroines, Mimi puts her tongue in cheek spin on ‘Dial M for Murder’ with a playful motif, and we created a matching telephone brooch that you’ll want on speed dial!
"Fashion East is such a hotbed of talent - it's been amazing to work with Mimi Wade on her AW17 collection. She's innovative, fun and we love her eclectic style" - Rosie and Harriet
We had so much fun working on these designs with Mimi, and we’ll be hanging on the telephone for her new collection!
